Class levels

Our next Intro Course led by Karen White will run on four consecutive Saturdays in March, starting on March 3, from 11 to 12:30pm. Fee is $75 (students $67.80). You can register through PayPal (see our prices page), or over the phone with Visa/Mastercard or come into the studio 15 minutes before the start of any scheduled class when a teacher will be available to take registration.

Mixed level: Appropriate for all levels. Standing, seated and finishing postures.

Astanga 1: Beginners welcome. Standing, seated and finishing postures, with a focus on the fundamentals.

Astanga 1-2: A more vigorous class with a half-primary series flow. Experience in 10 Level 1 classes recommended.

Astanga 2: Half-primary series flow plus postures from second half of primary, experience in 10 Level 1 classes recommended.

Astanga 3: Full Primary Series, this is a strong class and is NOT for beginners

Mysore: The best way to practice! Learn the sequence with hands-on adjustments from your teacher. Beginners welcome, try to attend at least three Astanga 1 classes first.

Meditation classes

Classes are available for students two days a week. The Thursday class is for new members regardless of previous meditation experience, however as instruction will be ongoing, and out of respect to other students and the Resident Lama, you must first contact the webmaster at chittamanitara@hotmail.com to ensure that your experience is meaningful. All newcomers will be directed to the Thursday beginner class, as attendance at the Tuesday class is by invitation by the Resident Lama only. Please do not drop in unannounced, since events not suitable to new attendees may be planned. There is no fee, but donations are welcome. These classes are directed by the Resident Lama, Dr Bob Kapitany.
