Friday 6:30-9pm Creating a practice for your lifetime: Mulabandha, Breath, Buoyancy, Meditation. I hope to be practicing yoga for my entire life! Yoga makes us adaptable in our physical body and our mental body. Return to the roots of yoga to re-establish the key parts of longevity in your practice – buoyancy through the breath and bandha. Re-assess your connection to Mulabandha and approach the practice of Surya Namaskara with new eyes, focusing on energetic movement, buoyancy, and meditation. Suitable for all who incorporate Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation) in their practice. See the possibilities for lightness in the fluid movements of Surya Namaskara. Includes chanting and meditation
Saturday 8:45-11am Mysore: Fiona will help shape your practice to last for a lifetime. Good for all practitioners of Astanga Vinyasa Yoga – anyone can do Mysore, including beginners!
Saturday 12:30-3:30pm Foundational Seeds of Backbending: The initial steps of backbending are developed in the primary series of Astanga Yoga. These steps are the foundation for safely executing all types of backbends. We will explore the fundamental postures which provide a foundation for a lifetime of energetic and strong back bending. Includes chanting and meditation.
Sunday 8:45-11am Mysore: Fiona will help shape your practice to last for a lifetime. Good for all practitioners of Astanga Vinyasa Yoga – anyone can do Mysore, including beginners!
Sunday 12:30-2:30pm Q & A Yoga Therapy – Bring your Questions: How does our practice stay with us for the duration of our lives. Having a therapeutic and healing practice is essential for longevity. Bring your yoga therapy questions to this Q&A session and we will delve deep to find some answers. Includes meditation and chanting.
Earlybird Before Sept 1st – $200+hst for the weekend
After Earlybird – $230+hst for the weekend or $50 per session
About Fiona Stang
Fiona was among the first 40 students worldwide to receive Level 2 Authorization from KPJAYI. Fiona first met Pattabhi Jois in 1999, and continues studies with his grandson Sharath, to receive their teachings of devotion, grace, faith, compassion, patience and yoga. She runs Ashtanga Yoga Vancouver where she teaches Mysore classes daily.
